Digital Interactions

Society is moving towards more active digital engagement, which is changing the requirements for how both public and private sector organisations interact with people through digital products and services. Digital interactions encompasses research on interactions between people and objects, technologies, digital, built and natural environments.

Digital Interactions focuses on exploring the relationships between people and products across different contexts, and creating new and enhanced experiences. It aims at shaping digital things for people’s use, employing a plethora of design processes, tools and materials.

With our research on digital interactions, we investigate emergent practices, the capabilities of social, pervasive and mobile technologies, and explore how we can develop understandings of services, exchange and interaction that benefit the whole of the UK economy.
